For the past weeks Chapa 3rd grade students have been working very hard to meet their weekly goals by using all their strategies and knowledge when it comes to reading passages. Teachers are finding ways to make these passages fun and engaging for students. Since then, students have shown more interest in the Reading passages and tried harder to meet their weekly goal. Zap! is one of the students favorite game where they are able to work in partners or in groups of four after answering the passage questions. In this game it’s not always the same students who get there answers correct that will win. It’s kind of like Jeopardy but with a curve ball, only the partners or group that answered the question correctly gets to choose a card from ZAP! This helps them really want to go back and check their answers to be able to participate in each round. For a teacher there is no better feeling than to see that her students are learning through fun and engaging activities!
