Chapa Elementary 4th Grade is Making Learning Fun!

At Elodia R. Chapa Elementary educators realize the importance of making their lesson meaningful for our students. Having the connection between home and the learning objective at school will enhance students content learning. That is why our fourth-grade teachers have stepped it up on correlating the perimeter and area learning objective with peanut butter and jelly sandwiches. Students were able to visualize the meaning of perimeter when they separated the crust of the sandwich. Area which is the opposite of perimeter was represented by the middle part of the delicious sandwich. Saul Valle, a student in Mrs. Reyna 4th grade classroom, said, “Wow! I will forever cherish this memory, and distinguish between the difference of perimeter and area.”

Students faces lit up with excitement, as shown by our students Kandra Leal and Samantha Gonzalez. This is what drives our fourth-grade teachers on creating engaging lesson for their students
